Ingredients:
chicken pieces- 1 kg
chopped onion - 300 gm
chopped tomato - 150 gm
green chilli - 2
curry leaves - few
ginger garlic paste - 1 tbsp
garam masala - half -1 tsp
chilli powder - 1 tsp
cumin, fennel powder - each 1 tsp
coriander powder - 2 tsp
freshly crushed pepper - 1 tbsp
chopped coriander leaves - to garnish
oil - 4 -6 tbsp
salt - to taste.
Steps to follow:
Heat oil in a heavy bottomed vessel, add chopped onion fry until golden brown.
Then add ginger garlic paste, garam masala, green chillies and curry leaves.Stir well in a low medium flame.
Add chopped tomatoes and salt to taste .Stir and close with lid for 2 minutes.
Now the oil oozes and tomatoes cooked well. Add chilli powder,coriander powder,cumin and fennel powders.
Stir well.
Add the cleaned washed drained chicken pieces.
Mix well. Cover and cook for 15 minutes in a medium flame,Stirring from time to time.
Cook until the chicken pieces are tender.Add salt to taste. Now add freshly ground pepper .Mix well. and cook for 5 minutes.
Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve.
This is a fairly hot chicken curry which is good served with either plain boiled rice, pulav, briyani or variety rice and tiffin varieties like dosai,appam and chapathi.
