ready made rice ada - 100 gm
jaggery (achu vellam) - 250 gm
coconut - 1 big size
dry ginger powder -quarter - half tsp
cardamom powder - half tsp
(or elam sukkupodi - 1tsp)
ghee - 3 tsp
broken mixed nuts - 2tbsp
coconut pieces - 1 tbsp(optional)
raisins - 1tbsp
pinch - salt.
Serves 6- 8
Preparation time - 20 minutes
Cooking time - 30 minutes.
Steps to follow:
Grate the coconut and transfer to a blender, add one cup warm water, pulse it for few seconds.Strain the thick milk and again add one to two cup water and strain the thin milk.
Cook the ready made ada with enough boiling water for 15 minutes in a medium flame. Drain the cooked ada and add thin coconut milk and again cook for another five minutes.
